As if the wound around South Florida wasn’t deep enough, this news surely added some salt to it. The NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks celebrated their victory over the Miami Heat at LIV Nightclub. Yes, the LIV Nightclub. Twitpics and rumors are swirling all over the internet about how much Mark Cuban spent that night (it’s allegedly around the 200k range.)
The Mavs definitely brought their new trophy inside the club and Lil Wayne, Birdman, and his crew definitely took a picture with it.
The win also was a milestone for Jason Kidd, who won his first championship after 17 years, and Dirk Nowitzki who snagged his first championship ring in 13 years. Emotions were running so high for Dirk that he dramatically left the court before the clock ran out and walked to the locker room instead of sticking around to celebrate.
“I had to get a moment. I was crying a bit. I was a little emotional. … I actually didn’t want to come out for the trophy, but the guys talked me into it.”
