As she bids adieu to her syndicated talk show, Oprah Winfrey can also kiss goodbye to her standing as the most powerful person in showbiz, according to the list-makers at Forbes magazine, who gave Lady Gaga the No. 1 spot on this year’s Celebrity 100.
The list, released Wednesday, takes into account income and influence, and the latter increasingly depends on mastery of social media, where Gaga trumps Winfrey, who's No. 2 on the Celebrity 100.
Gaga is tops because she earned $90 million in the past year, has amassed 32 million Facebook fans and 9.5 million Twitter followers. Winfrey, who has topped the list four times, including last year, earned $290 million.
Forbes breaks it down into five categories. Gaga ranks first in “social” and “web,” second in “press,” third in “TV/radio” and eighth in “money.” Winfrey was tops in money and TV/radio.
The youngest on this year’s list, 17-year-old Justin Bieber, is third after earning $53 million in the past 12 months. His status is enhanced by holding a YouTube record: 500 million views of his music video "Baby."
Rounding out the Top 10 are U2, Elton John, Tiger Woods, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Simon Cowell and LeBron James.
