The 14th Annual BMI Unsigned showcase was under way last night Wednesday, May 18th at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, GA. The night provides a unique opportunity for BMI affiliates to showcase before a room of industry professionals. The final four will perform for a panel of celebrity judges including producer Kane Beatz (Lil Wayne, Drake); Universal Music Publishing SVP/ Head of Urban Music Ethiopia Habtemariam; producer L.O.S. da Mystro (Rihanna, Mariah Carey); songwriter Chef Tone (R. Kelly, Trey Songz); Gordon & Rees LLP attorney & Partner Donald Woodard; and producers J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League (Rick Ross & Jay-Z).
BMI will also present the Legends of ATL Award to a community leader, recognizing his or her contributions to the Atlanta music scene. Past recipients of the prestigious honor include Big Boi, Big Oomp, Organized Noize, Dallas Austin and Lil’ Jon. Check out some photos from last nights event below!
