Manny Pacquiao is a very, very busy man – in addition to being one of the best boxers alive, he’s managing both a budding political campaign, and his overwhelming level of celebrity in the Philippines. Still, Pac Man has to put in the road work, just like any other professional boxer, and as one of Nike‘s most famous brand ambassadors, it’s only fitting that he has his own training shoes. In the 1.3 Max, Nike has given Pacquiao an extremely advanced and versatile shoe, which is extremely breathable (for use in the hot climates that Pacquiao trains in) that incorporates many of Nike’s newest technologies: Flywire in the forefoot for support, a full-length Max Air unit, and a full-length Cushlon midsole for additional cushioning and resilience. The shoe also works in carbon rubber in the heel area for enhanced durability, and features a waffle pattern sole for maximum traction. The shoe is also decorated with plenty of Pacquiao imagery, including his logo at the tongue, and a sockliner printed with images related to the athlete’s past and present surroundings.
