Back in January this year, rap newcomer Iggy Azalea took to Twitter to announce that she had signed to Interscope Records, headed by Jimmy Lovine.
However, Azalea may spark up a new record label bidding war with Atlanta's T.I., who revealed that the 21-year-old Aussie newcomer is currently a free agent despite supposedly signing to the label earlier this year.
Going onto ink a deal with T.I‘s ‘Grand Hustle’, the MC- by way of Twitter- led many to believe that the 2012 XXL Freshman was the proud owner of a joint deal between both groups, readying her debut album The New Classic for this June.
The blonde bombshell tweeted, "Interscope, if you were wondering."
"Get used to me & Jimmy Lovine smashing sh*t, cause that's the plan'' she added.
However, in a shock twist, T.I. has revealed that Iggy is a free-agent and has not inked a deal with Interscope, despite earlier claims that she did.
"Iggy is a free agent," Tip told Bu Thiam, VP of A&R at Def Jam, on MTV's Hip Hop POV.
Whether or not her debut album, The New Classic, will still be released on Interscope remains uncertain, but the change in her contractual obligations may not alter the release as Tip was previously signed on to executive produce the record.
Iggy is working on a new EP titled Glory, which is rumored to feature Big Sean, Mike Posner and B.o.B.
She previously released the single "Murda Bizness" featuring T.I.
